Auditions will be April 23-24, 2018 from 6-8p at The Salvation Army, located at 1109 N Thornton Avenue; Dalton, GA 30720. Click here for a map.

All children will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the audition and first rehearsal. Transportation cannot be provided to cast and crew members.

Auditioning for Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka JR. can be a challenging experience. That’s why we have prepared the following excerpts to help you get ready to “Break a leg.”  Feel free to print what you need to get ready for your audition. Each page has a print button.

All cast members will be singing and need to prepare the following songs: The Candy Man (the Kids part) and Oompa-Loompa 1 (ALL). Also, all cast members need to be familiar with the James or Matilda part from this link.

Each character has a breakdown, sides (SCRIPT), and a small excerpt from the score with which to rehearse your audition. These need to be prepared in addition to the songs and script excerpt mentioned above. We will have musical accompaniment tracks during the rehearsal and performance.

In addition to cast members, we are also looking for a few crew members to help with staging, costumes, ushering, and other tasks.

Rehearsals will be Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights from 6-8p, starting May 7, 2018. We also might have two Saturday morning (9-11a) workshops in May for concentrated cast rehearsals.

Performances will be June 7 (7p), June 8 (7p), June 9 (2p), June 10 (2p), June 15 (7p), June 16 (7p), and June 17 (2p). All cast and crew need to be available for the majority of rehearsals and all of the performances.
